Rei Ceballo (Cuba)


Rei Ceballo is from Santiago de Cuba, where he studied piano and cello. In 1986 he moved to Havana, where he improved his skills studying with masters like Ruben Gonzales. In his search for new sounds he formed the band Azucar Negra, which became very popular in Cuba. In 1996 Reinaldo started to cooperate with Sierra Maestra group. His compositions and music arrangements from that period can be heard in the soundtrack "Salsa" a film by Joyce Sherman Buñuel. Luis Buñuel's grand daughter. Reinaldo Ceballo has performed concerts in the United States, France, Italy, UK, Belgium and the Netherlands. In the early 2000 he moved to Poland where he founded "Calle Sol" a succesful Salsa Orchestra. He has worked with many distinguished artist of the Polish musical scene.
