ABOUT

Barrio Varsovia is a series of interviews and musical performances of Latin American men and women who have decided to take their lives and their music, for whatever reason, to the other side of the world.

Warsaw is the capital of Poland, a country in Eastern Europe. The city lies on the Vistula River. It is Poland’s largest city and center of culture. The city has survived destruction and invasion throughout its history. The city’s motto is Contemnit procellas, which means, "It defies the storms."

Immigration in Poland is relatively resent, activated with the conclusion of the communist system and encouraged with the accession of Poland to the European Union. The majority of immigration to Poland comes from neighboring countries in Eastern Europe and less so among the rest of Europe, Asia and Africa. Immigration from Latin America is still very limited.

The use of Spanish language in the streets of Warsaw is not rare these days, however, a Latin Music Concert remains a highly attractive event and of great interest.
